Lars, Megan, Nik & Suzanne took an exploratory trip to the Cedars Peridotite in Sonoma County to round out their June fieldwork. The travertine deposits are spectacular, but finding fresh peridotite is a challenge.
The type locality for lherzolite is Lers, in the French Pyrenees. Megan and Jessica spent a weekend scrambling around these rocks – in snow! The France-Stanford Center for Interdisciplinary Studies generously provided funding for this trip.
