5 tons of seafloor rocks arrive in Woods Hole

The Warren Lab was excited to see their 5 tons of seafloor samples during a trip to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. These samples were collected in Oct-Nov 2025 during R/V Revelle expedition RR2509 to Chain transform fault in the equatorial Atlantic. From November to February, the rocks were shipped from Cape Verde to the USA via Portugal. The rocks handily fit into a shipping container, which was trucked to the Seafloor Samples Laboratory at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution for archiving. Now the sorting, cutting, and analyzing can continue!
